Unusual

Unusually this week, we had our usual Friday night out.

Today I have no new beers to try, so I will have to get out there a find some.

Wolviston

Went up the village tonight, just for a walk you understand but as we were already there, we popped into The Welly and then The Ship. The guest beers in both of them were old favorites, Bombardier and Speckled Hen, shame there was nothing new though. The walk back is more rushed towards the end than the walk there.

Cool & Fresh

A beer I bought in in an asian shop in York, I only went in for to buy a particular dark soy sauce I like.
Hite, Cool & Fresh from South Korea
4.5% gold colour with a poor head, sweet malt aroma, sweet slightly malt fizzy taste. Pretty poor but it was refreshing. There have been some suggestions that the "S" has gone missing from the "Hite".

England v Ghana

Watching football, England v Ghana, with a few cans of beers.

Swedish Blonde

Another one from our last trip away in the van, this one was in the Market Tavern, Durham city.

4.2% gold colour with a thin head, citrus hop aroma and dry citrus hop taste, quite good but I wasn't concentrating, I was watching England beating Scotland at the rugby.

Old Man Ale

The second new beer of the night wasn't much better,
Coniston, Old Man Ale from England
4.8% dark amber colour with a thin head, sweet slightly soapy aroma, bitter hop taste lacking body.

Tapping The Admiral

Last night we only had two new beers, both suppled by Jonathan, I am letting the side down this week. We had bangers and burgers, sort of an indoor barbie, very nice it was. We did have plenty of other beers, so don't worry about us but only the two new ones.

The first new beer was
Shepherd Neame, Tapping The Admiral from England
4.0% light gold colour with a thin head, malt aroma, slightly woody, fizzy, watery taste, a bit of a disappointment.
